questions we get a lot...
Q: What are the perks of becoming a member of PRSSA?
A: There are too many to count!
Q: How do I become a member?
A: Anyone can become a member by paying the annual PRSSA dues! You do not need to be a journalism major to join.
We recommend you make it to meetings, come to all of our mixers and events and attend out-of-state PRSSA events (like National Conference, Regional Conference and National Assembly).
Q: When are chapter meetings?
A: For the Spring 2011 semester, our meetings are held every-other Monday from 5:30-6:30 in the Knowledge Center in room 104. Please refer to our Calendar for detailed information on each meeting.
Q: How much are the dues?
A: Typically, dues are around $70. This fee will cover your membership for an entire year.
Q: If I miss the Fall deadline for dues, do I have to wait until the next school year?
A: No! We collect dues twice (once in the Fall and once in the Spring). If you pay your dues in the Fall, you will usually pay by the end of October. If you pay dues in the Spring, you will usually pay in March. Remember, you only pay dues ONCE per year! Your membership is good for an entire year.
Q: Do I need to be a journalism student to join?
A: Absolutely not! If you have a passion for communications, PR or marketing, PRSSA is available to you.
