opportunities...Because PRSSA is a pre-professional organization, we try to inform our members of all possible internships, jobs and other educational experiences, all of which will prepare you for your future career.
We encourage all PR students to complete as many internships as possible, paid or unpaid. The greater number of internships you do, the more experience you will have before you graduate. While paid internships are great to have, they can be incredibly difficult to find (especially with the economy's current state). If you are financially able, we recommend you find unpaid internships. These internships, while not financially beneficial, will still provide that much-needed experience in today's competitive job market. While we are a student organization, we will try to offer job opportunities as we find them for our graduating members. Conferences, such as the PRSSA National Conference and Regional Conferences, are a great educational experience for all students. These conferences will allow you to meet other students, hear great speakers, expand your network (making connections is crucial if you will be job-hunting) and so much more. Plus, it's always fun to travel with your PRSSA friends! As you will find in PR, writing is an integral part of our field. To practice your writing, consider writing for our blog or for the PRSSA National FORUM. |
