Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) boasts more than 10,000 students within over 300 organized chapters in the United States, Argentina, Colombia and Peru. PRSSA is the forefront organization for students interested in public relations, marketing and communications. Chapters provide experience and practical knowledge to students.
Public relations, as defined by PRSA, functions to “help an organization and its publics adapt mutually to each other.” As a management function, it includes anticipating, analyzing and interpreting public opinion; counseling management; developing programs that inform the public understanding, and planning and implementing an organization’s efforts to influence or change public policy.
