Kyla Danielle Kwan, CPPR is a Reynolds School of Journalism alumna. She moved to New York City after graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno in May 2021 and currently works for Ketchum specializing in digital strategy. Her client work focuses on brand and social strategy.

Prior to moving to New York, Kwan served as the Associated Students of the University of Nevada's (ASUN) Director of Public and Campus Relations and supported the Reynolds School of Journalism's marketing and communications department. She participated in the Public Relations Student Society of America's (PRSSA) Bateman Competition and the American Advertising Federation's (AAF) Integrated Marketing Competition between 2020 and 2021.

Alana Ridge is the Marketing and Communications Manager for United Construction Company, a design-build general contracting firm building industrial, government, educational, aviation, and specialty projects in Northern Nevada, Southern Nevada, and Northern California. In her role at United, she leads internal and external communication efforts and maintains all digital marketing assets, including the United website, intranet, social media, graphics, and other branding resources. She enjoys encapsulating stories behind every project and purpose and communicating that story to the community.

Alana is also currently the Vice President of Public Relations for Nevada's Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (NCET), where she leads media relations and PR strategy as a part of the nonprofit board.

Before United Constriction, Alana was a Public Relations Jr. Account Executive for The Abbi Agency, a multiple award-winning integrated marketing agency in Reno, assisting travel, health, retail, and construction clients in crafting their messaging to the greater public. She also worked in PR and grant writing for Girl Scouts of the Sierra Nevada, helping build girls of courage, confidence, and character through her efforts in fundraising and media relations.

Originally from the great southern state of Kentucky, Alana grew up in California in the San Francisco Bay Area and moved up to Reno to attend the University of Nevada. She holds a B.A. in Journalism with an emphasis in Strategic Communications and a minor in Foreign Affairs and also holds a Certificate in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Florida Atlantic University.

Outside of her job, you can find Alana singing in a local barbershop women’s chorus, participating in community theater, walking dogs on the side, and spending time with her family, friends, significant other, and her own dog, Lily.  And if you can’t find her, she’s probably traveling!

Benjamin Engel, CPPR is a Reynolds School of Journalism alumnus who held various leadership roles with the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), finishing as the President of the PRSSA Nevada chapter before graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno in May 2021 with Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a Minor in Theater. After graduating, Engel started at the Abbi Agency as an Account Coordinator, and two weeks ago was promoted to Junior Account Executive!

Engel is an experienced account coordinator who loves telling the best stories for his clients: be it pitching to local and national media outlets, engaging with audiences on social media, or generating content for any platform a brand needs to tell their story effectively. As a student at UNR, he has created eye-catching photography projects through his freelance photography business, and completed multiple internships with agency, government, and nonprofit organizations. Some of his favorite works he's completed have centered around telling the stories of artists, including his Hearst Journalism Award-nominated photography series: Pandemic Performers.

Rachael Reyes is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno, with a bachelor's degree in journalism, with an emphasis in public relations. Reyes approaches each new challenge with tact and concern for results. She is not afraid to doggedly pursue stories and falls in love with each new client as she can see their potential futures. Hailing from Las Vegas, Nevada, Reyes has a knack for finding the newsworthy elements of client initiatives and aligning them with the right reporters for the best chances at earned media. A lover of animals, public relations, and fun events, Reyes is an asset to every project on which she collaborates.

Reyes has interned at the City of Reno to develop a social media plan to help limit the spread of Covid-19 amongst college students. She also served as the Account Executive on the 2021 J-school Bateman Team to address cancel culture.
